Press Brake Die Storage Built for the Way You Work

Proper Storage Systems designs and builds press brake die storage racks for metal fabrication facilities, machine shops, and manufacturing plants where tooling protection and operational efficiency are priorities. We engineer our industrial press brake die racks around your specific tooling dimensions, weight loads, and floor plan. From a single press brake to a multi-machine cell, we build storage configurations that fit your operation.

Custom Press Brake Die Racks Engineered to Your Specs

Off-the-shelf racks rarely account for the variety of die lengths, profiles, and weights found in a working fabrication shop. We build our press brake tool storage systems to your specifications, accommodating everything from short precision tooling to long heavy-tonnage dies.

We design each rack around the details that matter in your facility: slot spacing, load capacity per tier, aisle clearance, and access height for your operators. If you have a confined footprint or an unusual tooling mix, we account for that in the design rather than asking you to compromise.

Protect Your Tooling Investment

Improper storage of press brake tooling causes edge damage, accelerates wear, and creates safety hazards when dies are stacked or left on the floor. Our industrial press brake die racks keep tooling organized and protected between runs.

We build each rack from heavy-gauge steel with load ratings matched to your tooling weights. That means less tooling damage and operators who can locate the right die without delay.

Why Work With PSS

Every press brake die storage system we produce starts with your operational requirements. Our team works directly with fabricators, tooling managers, and plant engineers to build storage that fits the physical reality of your facility.

We've built racks for high-mix job shops, production floor environments, and toolroom settings where floor space and access efficiency are critical. We manufacture to tight tolerances and stand behind the durability of every rack we produce.

FAQs

Wood is not a good material for press brake die storage. Wood contains natural moisture that promotes rust and corrosion on hardened steel tooling over time. It also lacks the structural integrity to safely and consistently support heavy-tonnage dies. A heavy-gauge steel rack, properly designed for the load, keeps tooling dry and protected from surface degradation that can affect performance.

Before placing dies in a rack, wipe each tool down with isopropyl alcohol to remove fingerprints and hand acids, then apply a preservative lubricant and wipe off any excess. Using only a petroleum-based lubricant doesn't adequately protect the tooling; it simply coats the surface, including any corrosive residue left by handling. Consistent pre-storage cleaning extends tooling life significantly and protects the laser-marked identification data operators rely on during setup.

OSHA does not have a specific standard requiring load ratings to be posted on racking, but the agency regularly cites racking hazards under the General Duty Clause and typically references the industry standard ANSI MH16.1 when doing so. Posting the maximum load capacity on any rack holding heavy press brake dies is considered best practice and protects facilities during OSHA inspections.
